A girls trip was long overdue in my family, so on March 3rd we took off to Sarasota, Florida for a week of relaxation! My mom, mother in law, sister, and me enjoyed a brief relief from the biggest snow storm Traverse City had ever seen! The day we left home, over 4 feet of wet, heavy snow fell (and only more fell over the week). Traverse City was declared a state of emergency. Planes were grounded, trees snapped, people were snowed in, power was out, and roads were horrible. My sister and I actually had to drive to Detroit due to our plane being grounded from the storm. Luckily, we flew out the next day in Detroit after a short sleep at the airport. Roads were the worst I had ever seen. We arrived in Florida safe and sound- and headed right to the beach! There, we spent eight long days lying in the soft sands of Siesta Key!
We dined on some of the tastiest foods ever!! Fresh seafood, fruits, and desserts. Everything was amazing.
