It's April 1st, and 80 degrees!!!??? This is no joke. Yesterday's high in Northern Michigan was 78 degrees~ something that hasn't happened in 40 years. Today has been gorgeous, hazy, and super warm. I took this photo at the boat launch by my parents house today....it's incredible. No ice, no snow.....just warmth! I saw 4 teenage girls in BIKINIS today riding to Bardon's (our local ice cream hot spot) n their bikes from the BEACH! This just doesn't happen here....ever.
The waves...lapping up on the shore, birds chirping, cars with their windows down, people in shorts and tank tops. BLISS!! We have waited soooo long for weather like this. Normal temperatures for April are in the 40's here. We are already seeing buds on the trees! High's tomorrow call for 79* again and on Saturday! Heaven.
Maisy is a sun worshiper. She naps in the sun beams any chance she gets. Today was no exception. She loves having the door open, the breeze flowing over her fur and hearing the birds sing all day. This is what a true spring break really is.
Bardon's Wonder Freeze is one of our favorite ice cream places in Traverse City. Locals impatiently await the grand opening each year because this (to us) symbolizes the beginning of summer :) This year they opened early--March 31st. You bet we were there to grab our first cone! I have to get a twist with rainbow sprinkles. Justin-mackinaw island fudge. Bring on summer!!!
The Save the Dates are officially done and mailed!!!! I am so happy to have them finished. It was a two day project....nothing I can't handle. Today my mom and I met with the coordinators at the Hagerty Center (where our wedding/reception are taking place). Table runners are ordered, chairs, tables, and tent.....along with the dance floor. We walked away with MORE decisions to make!! When will it end?! Nonetheless....progress is being made and it makes m very excited!
