2-week update!

This year at the Cherry Festival the Blue Angels flew!! I missed them the last year they were here so it was pretty fun to see the air show- and VERY loud too! My dad and I got the opportunity to watch the show at an NMC private party--off the pier at the Maritime Academy! It was the best spot in town to see them. The weather was absolutely perfect!
We never miss the Beatles Tribute! We go every year- they are amazing! My whole family went this year (minus mom..she was out of town on business) to see the band and eat some open space grub!
Here is the Tribute band right as they went on stage. Tons of people come out for this concert- all ages too!
The last night of Cherry Festival my good friend John Reid (he and Justin have been friends since high school) - and other friends came out to celebrate summer! We had a group of about 10 people that night and it was a blast! John is in the Coast Guard stationed in Grand Haven, so we dont see him too often. But he came up for a few days to hang out! He even took me for my first ride on a motorcycle!! He owns an Indian ( I guess theyre pretty rare) so we went for a spin downtown together....it was a hot, fast, and wind-whipping ride, but VERY fun!
These are a few of the friends who came out with us that night. Stacey and Kim! This was one of our silly pictures we took that night :) We all had a great time together. And exciting news: Stacey (on the left) just got engaged on July 18th!!! So excited for her! Another Cherry Festival is in the books, and I'm already looking forward to next years because....Justin will be here!!!! He has missed the past 4 years so it will be an amazing year. He will be in TC in exactly 24 days!!

Honorable Day for the family

This year West Shore Community College chose to honor my grandpa (founding president of WSCC) by naming the Student Center after him! This was a huge deal for my grandpa and we were all very proud of him! The picture and paque behind him will stay in that building forever. This is him giving his speech towards the end of the ceremony.
All the grandchildren were present! Here is my cousin Allison, me, and my sister at the naming ceremony at WSCC. Black seemed to be the theme for attire!
After the ceremony our family had an open house for all attendants from the cermony. Mostly gma's and gpa's friends and colleagues. It was an all-day affair, and alot of food! The grandkids pictured here (me, Allison, Josh, Seth, Rob, and Lindsey) took charge of bartending for the event. It was a long, but very memorable day for our family.

4th of July Beach Day!

The 4th was a perfect beach day! My friend Rachelle (whom i've known almost 6 years now) and I joined the masses of tourists to spend a day at West End beach in TC. It was about 80* and very sunny all day. The Blue Angels were also practicing their air show routines all day so we enjoyed the entertainment!
Our friend Nick also came down to the beach to enjoy the sun. It was nice to have our little group back together---with such busy schedules (Rachelle being manager at Abercrombie & Fitch and a server at the Beach Bums, Nick being a Commercial pilot and flight instructor at NMC, and me working full time and going to school all summer) it's tough to get us all together.
Here are the Blue Angels practicing. They are small in this picture, but they were VERY loud and fun to watch. They comet to the Cherry Festival every other year---and they say TC is their favorite destination to fly. Yay!
