Grand Rapids day trip!

Every winter we take a trip down to Grand Rapids for a Griffin's hockey game. They are a semi-professional team. The Detroit Red Wings often use their best players when they have injuries on their team. We have seen a lot of rookies move up from GR to Detroit over the years. It's a lot of fun to watch any sport live! My dad's company has an attorney.....the attorney holds season tickets in a box suite! We can get tickets pretty much anytime we want :) It's a good thing.

Linds and Rob

The Griffin's ended up winning 5-3! It was exciting to see some good goals take place. Also whil in GR....we stopped at Costco, and a few other select stores before the game :) It was a chance to get away from TC for a day and enjoy some sports!

St. Patty's Day- Sea of Green

Every year we "celebrate" St. Patty's Day. It's a time to get together with friends, have some drinks, and enjoy the people watching at our lovely bars in downtown Traverse City. This year the parties began early for many "pub crawlers". 9am walking into my place of business....there were already people consuming great amounts of beverage! I am always amazed to see how many people take the entire day off of work....just to party! Justin and I were not among the "many". We worked until 5pm and didn't get down to the "sea of green" until 7pm! Justin's friend Max was in town for a visit. They grew up together in Rogers City long ago. We spent the evening with Max and his girlfriend Portia!
Surprisingly, it was very warm inside the bar. With hundreds of people packed into a very small area...the heat rises, and the more beverages are consumed. Justin and I could not believe how many people were already there when we arrived! We enjoyed a couple drinks, and went home. We had to work in the morning, afterall :)
The green scene!! Dillingers/Bootlegger's
I was probably the ONLY person at the bar drinking wine on such an occasion......most people drink green beer.
Max and his girlfriend. They were a fun couple to hang out with! Only meeting them once at our wedding, it was nice to get to know them better. Happy St. Patty's Day!

Justin turns 28!!

This past weekend....Justin turned 28! As per his request, we went to Buffalo Wild Wings for dinner and drinks, and then to Side Traxx for some dancing and pool! We had such a fun group come out to help us celebrate- it was quite the bash! Very sweaty after a lot of dancing!
His first birthday as my husband!

Spring is 2 weeks away?

Today is March 6th. A lazy, sunny Sunday at home for The Knapps :) The sun was shining all day and it called our names....so we took a walk down to the Lake Leelanau boat launch to check things out.
It's still a snowy tundra outside our door....but the roads are dry!

Yup....Lake Leelanau is STILL frozen. A few snowmobile tracks prove the ice is still really thick under all that snow. But what a gorgeous view!

In a few months...we'll be out on our boat again :) That's a lovely thought!

Maisy was in HEAVEN today, basking all afternoon in the sunbeams. It has been so long since we have had this much sunshine, it was just great. Looks are deceiving though- it was 25 degrees today. It's hard to believe Spring is only 2 weeks away. Bring it on!!
