Justin+Emily

Last week Justin and I went to the Top of The Park for drinks and appetizers with our families---and to hear the pianist play (we hired him to play for our cocktail hour at the wedding). This guys is amazing, he makes your name out of wire just by bending it with pliars!! He has been doing it for awhile and is pretty famous around town for this different type of art. So when we met him on this night- he made one for us in the shape of a heart. I love it!
It was really special. And it makes a great conversation piece at home! It was such a neat evening, hearing him play songs he would play for our cocktail hour---he even played "somewhere over the rainbow" which i will be walked down the aisle to :)

After a long day of shower events- we went to dinner with Justin's mom and all her friends! We sat on the deck at Boone Docks (the place we ate before Justin proposed!) and listened to live music and ate a yummy dinner! A true summer night....

Aunt Sue and Barb!

Tami, Barb, and Janna! We had a great time laughing and spending time together. I can't wait until we're all together again next month for a really big celebration!

Garden Party Bridal Shower!

Saturday June 19th marked my 3rd and FINAL bridal shower!! It was absolutely the most precious bridal shower. Everything was yellow, daisy-covered, girlie, pink, and bright. We had a perfect sunny day and everyone had such a good time. My shower was held at The Red School House in Cedar---the most adorable school house-turned guest house. A family friend owns this place which is over 120 years old!! We have gathered here for many other events. It was just perfect.
Even the balloons marking the shower were yellow--my favorite!

These were the centerpieces which doubled as door prizes for those who won the shower games!

A view looking down on the beautifully decorated tables---from the loft above.

Jen, Barb (mother of the groom) and Tami. All enjoying their mimosas and bloody mary's. :)

My maids! Kaytlyn and Kim. (Lindsey was taking the picture) And I must tell you, it was a garden party themed shower. You were supposed to wear some type of hat....some people forgot!

The shower favors were so cute!! Yellow and daisies! They were boxes of chocolate. YUM.

The menu consisted of a delicious quiche, raspberry muffins, a light summery strawberry salad, rhubarb cake and chocolate covered strawberries for dessert. I ate myself silly.

My lovely ladies.

Justin's aunt brought her fine china all the way up from Detroit for my shower---it was so elegant and perfect.

These were amazing. Fresh Michigan strawberries....cannot get any better than this.

We played a rather entertaining game called the "toilet paper wedding dress" game. Three teams had to "design" a dress on one of the ladies and I got to judge the best dressed. My sister's dress won (on right). They were so detailed and pretty! Who knew you had all the makings for a pretty dress right in your bathroom!?

I loved all my gifts--and I loved the ones that were yellow :)

Finally, 6 place settings for our guests!! LOVE!

And an adorable leaf serving platter!! This shower was so perfect, and so different than my other two. When I closed my eyes and pictured what I would love for a bridal shower---this one was everything I had imagined. It was so awesome to have all my wonderful friends and family
present and enjoying themselves. It was a perfect summer day, and I was so excited to wear a pretty party dress!! Justin and I had to work very hard to find room for all our new stuff.....I can't imagine what it will be like AFTER the wedding. WANTED:SHELVING. Besides the space issue, I had SUCH a fun time and it seems sad that this will be my last shower before the wedding. But, we're down to 40 days and I can't wait to just enjoy this time and prepare to become Mrs. Knapp :)
