Birthday Boy!

He's 26 today! Justin was thankfully born 26 years ago today....boy am I glad! :) Justin spent the day at work, and then doing stats homework with a study group....exciting eh? To him this was just another day, but I still tried to make it special! Being in the same state this year on his birthday was a huge step up!
I baked him a cake! Justin insisted on "funfetti" cake with chocolate frosting. Since we didn't have 26 candles lying around the house, two had to do. This was taken this morning at 7:30am right before Justin left for work.....I let him eat a piece of cake for breakfast. (gasp!)

Tummies full and sweat pants on. Dad took us out to eat at Apache Trout Grill....Justin's favorite place. It was delicious! Time to relax the night away...

These photos are reversed haha. But Justin was very excited to open a gift this year from me! I got him a hair clipper kit- he likes cutting his own hair. It saves on money. Spoken like a true financial coordinator :)

He enjoyed the Obama birthday card I got him :) It was a good birthday...we had lunch together on our lunch break and get to spend a night out with friends tomorrow night! Friday the 13th was definately not a curse---Justin was born! Happy Birthday love. To many more!

4 months already!

It's update time!

I can't believe it has already been 4 months since Justin has been back in Michigan!! I am so thankful everyday that he is here sharing life's little moments with me. It makes such a huge difference having him here, I am so happy!

What's been happening with Emily? Well, I've been busy at work.....the economy's ugly face is a constant reminder each time a client walks into my office. It's so sad how many people are filing for bankruptcy today....all walks of life. As a reminder, I work for a bankruptcy attorney. This past week was very hectic, the boss was in Florida all week!! Lisa (his paralegal) and I held down the fort and saw many new clients. Our case load is shockingly large. It's been almost 2 months now at the job! I still am liking it, and it's helping me pay for school! As for that department....I am almost done with year #2!!! I begin summer courses May 1st. This summer I will have my last 2 classes of the program, and then it's onto counseling real people in Grand Rapids!! Eeeek! I'm very excited.

What's happening with Justin? He's been busy at work-he sees the other side of the economy. The rich are bailing out of their stocks and his company has been feeling it. Justin (thankfully) just got a raise at work! Probably one of the VERY few this month in Michigan getting raises. He has now been a financial coordinator for 4 months! He's enjoying it and is lookng forward to finishing school so he can be official. He hopes to begin at Davenport this summer! We're both pretty excited about that.

Justin went ice fishing for the 2nd time this winter, yesterday. He went with a guy he works with at IWM. They actually caught some fish too! Whitefish and perch. He fished Big Glen Lake and Lake Leenanau. Success!

The weeks are getting bussier....as the snow starts to melt. Everyone has cabin fever. Justin and I are feeling it since this was one of the few spring's we didn't go on "spring break". We stayed home and worked. Maybe next year..... In other news...Justin turns 26 this week!! Yes, he was born on Friday the 13th. A cake may be in store :) We plan to spend it with friends...though Justin keeps telling me he doesn't want to "celebrate" it. We will anyway! That's all for now.....hopefully i'll post some pics next time.
